On 16 July, the Teatro Sociale in Como hosted the international ceremony for the A’ Design Award & Competition 2026. During the Gala Night, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries received the Platinum A’ Design Award for its Hydrolution EZY R290 air-to-water heat pump series and the Gold A’ Design Award 2026 for its ZT series.
The 2026 edition recognised 1,678 projects from 115 countries across 162 design disciplines, selected by the 312 members of the International Design Academy, comprising academics, journalists, professionals and entrepreneurs.
This prestigious accolade, announced in May and reserved for the top 1 per cent of entries, recognises product excellence in the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Products Design category.
Designed in collaboration with the Italian studio Tensa Industrial Design, the Hydrolution EZY R290 stands out for its elegant black finish, clean lines and distinctive silver vertical element. A contemporary design, conceived to blend discreetly into European residential buildings, which is complemented by advanced technology based on the use of the natural refrigerant R290.
The presentation of the A’ Design Awards confirms Mitsubishi Heavy Industries’ ability to combine technological innovation, environmental awareness and design quality.
