During winter operation, the unit recovers part of the energy contained in the air expelled from the rooms, which otherwise would be dispersed into the atmosphere, using it to pre-heat the incoming air from the outside.
During summer operation, the exchange is more effective in warmer climates, where the fresh air expelled is used to pre-cool the incoming air from the outside.
The recovery of dispersed energy implies the reduction of the thermal needs of the building and therefore the possibility of choosing a heating and air conditioning system of a smaller size, with a consequent decrease in harmful emissions and significant long-term savings on the energy consumed and on the costs of the plant
