Allergen Clear filter for air quality improving

Everyone knows how important it is to live in a healthy environment, the quality of the air at home and at the workplace is fundamental, especially in this historical period. The Allergen Clear filter, made by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, is capable of capturing a wide range of germs, allergens, and viruses linked to important health complications. This technology suppresses harmful particles thanks to the use of an enzyme-urea compound.

Allergen Clear filter stops Covid-19

MHI can today confirm that the air purification technology is effective for the removal and inactivation of the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2). The confirmation of the effectiveness of the Allergen Clear filter came with a test air filter* conducted by the Japan Textile Products Quality and Technology Center (Q-TEC).
Specifically, the air purification filter was inoculated with a viral fluid containing SARS-CoV-2, and left to rest at 35°C. After an hour the viral titer was determined through plaque assay. Compared to the control sample of viral fluid containing SARS-CoV-2, the rate of inactivation for the filtering media in the air purification filter was 99.998%, confirming that in one hour of reaction time, the SARS-CoV-2 had been rendered nearly completely inactive.
The Allergen Clear filter is mounted in many internal MHI units, like Kireia Plus, Kireia, Large Comfort, and on the console Primary Heating.

MHI technology research

Technological research aimed at identifying systems to remove or inactivate viruses in interiors where air conditioning systems are installed contributes in contrasting the spread of COVID-19. Going forward, MHI will continue to conduct research in this field to develop antibacterial and antiviral technologies aimed at the safety of all who enjoys its air conditioning systems.
